Environmental sanitation is an operation aimed at thoroughly eliminating any
bacterium and contaminating
agent which, with common cleaning and detergents, is not possible
to remove. Its purpose is to bring the microbial and viral load back within standards
optimal hygiene. In the sanitization of the environments not only cleaning and the
disinfection, but if necessary also disinfestation and rodent control. The two
practices are aimed at eliminating mostly parasites and pests. They fall within the
sanitation of environments including interventions aimed at restoring the adequate microclimate
internal and external (temperature, ventilation, degree of relative humidity, presence of
powders, etc ...)
It should be noted that it would be better to carry out environmental sanitation not only in
extraordinary way, but conceive it as an ordinary activity is to respect the
impositions of the laws in force, both in order to better protect the health of others. Great
part of the population spends about 85% of their time indoors such as offices, schools,
homes and gyms. However, we do not realize that often the air we breathe in the rooms is
contaminated due to ventilation systems that are not properly cleaned.
There is therefore no specific time to carry out environmental sanitation: it is correct
that it is constant, both in winter and in summer. We must know, and demand in
as workers or users, who in many environments such as offices, industry plants
food, accommodation and health facilities and schools cannot be limited to cleaning
ordinary but we must always aim to make the places healthy and risk-free
contamination.
This intervention to have effects, and be in accordance with the law, must be conducted
in the environments periodically and consistently. It is interesting to note how in a habitat
sanitized, business costs are reduced because sick days are reduced
personal. Enjoy a comfortable working environment, with sanitized air,
corresponds to having a higher quality of life.
Let's see together what are the other advantages of environmental sanitation:
Elimination of bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi;
Elimination of chemical / biological pollutants;
Elimination of allergens;
Reduction of fine particles;
Elimination of bad smells;
Reduction of sick days in the workplace (sanitized air = quality of life);
Work productivity improvement;
Respect rules and regulations.
There are cases in which it is necessary to carry out by law, and for the safety of the community, a
more in-depth intervention, which is not the simple cleaning of the rooms. In some
circumstances sanitation and sterilization are applied hand in hand to act in a way
decided on every vegetative vital form, spores and viruses.
